About the event
Held in Festival Park, adjacent to Aberdeen #187's downtown location, this Brotherhood Night will host Brethren from across the Harford and Cecil County area for a BBQ dinner, cornhole tournament, and reflection on those whom we've lost in service to our Nation. Brothers and prospective members from across the region, especially our appendant bodies and Prince Hall Brethren, are encouraged to RSVP – and register a cornhole team!
Remembrance:
Starting our event, we will hold a short ceremony in conjunction with Aberdeen Legion Post #128, including an explanation of the Fallen Soldier Table.
Food:
We're excited to feature Br Ricci's famous pulled pork along with Br Ivey's mouth-watering smoked brisket on our dinner buffet, with rolls, slaw, and other picnic sides. We will have tea and lemonade to drink, and cookies for dessert. No alcohol please.
Cornhole:
Br Watkins is organizing a bracketed cornhole competition to stir a little rivalry among the Lodges. Teams of two will compete to claim the title for what we aim to be an annual activity. Let us know if you can bring boards, bags, or other supplies.
Charity:
Aberdeen #187's Brothers identified two worthy charities who have benefitted them personally while they were in uniform. The Army Emergency Relief (AER) program and Navy-Marine Corp Relief Society (NMCRS) both provide critical support to our Nation's soldiers and their families through grants, support programs, and scholarships. We aim to have local representative at our event to share their stories. All funds raised will be split evenly between these charities.
